Gear Up for Bike for Breath 2008!

If your child is suffering from asthma, Breathe California has the perfect opportunity for you. From August 4th – 8th, our one-of-a-kind summer day camp - Camp Superstuff - returns to help local kids learn to take control of their asthma. In addition to offering important asthma management lessons daily, Camp Superstuff allows asthmatic kids to meet new friends and enjoy traditional summer activities in a safe and familiar camp environment.

DON’T LET YOUR CHILD MISS THIS FUN-FILLED EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY! Applications must be received by Thursday, July 17th. Scholarships are also being offered by a number of local healthcare providers. Click here to learn more! [link to 2008 Camp Flyer]

Breathe California Chosen to Coordinate the Silicon Valley Clean Cities Coalition

Breathe California is proud to announce that it has been chosen as the coordinator of the Silicon Valley Clean Cities Coalition! The coalition, one of 100 across the country, works to improve air quality and achieve energy independence by promoting alternative fuel vehicles (AFVs). Breathe California will help organize the efforts of the coalition’s diverse membership to achieve this goal, much like it did at CISCO Systems’ Earth Day event (see picture) where more than 5,000 people learned about air quality and AFVs. Heat waves can also increase smog pollution to potentially dangerous levels, posing a host of serious health risks to children, seniors or those with heart or lung disease. Fortunately, you can protect yourself and your loved ones from spikes in air pollution this summer by following these simple tips.
