In the OfficeDuring January, we experienced some technical failures at our office which prevented us from sending out our monthly e-newsletter. Breathe California is proud to announce that it has been chosen as one of 60 groups nationwide to participate in IBM’s ¡Tradúcelo Ahora! (Translate Now!) program. As the only local recipient, Breathe California will help the community access IBM’s innovative web-based software which can automatically translate web pages and emails between English and Spanish. 
On February 6th, Breathe California presented the San Jose City Council with an official commendation from the agency. The award recognized the city for being named one of America’s healthiest cities, while specifically acknowledging the council's role in supporting and implementing critical tobacco control measures over the past 30 years. 
On November 6th, the eBay Foundation awarded a $2500 Champion a Charity grant to Breathe California. The grant will support the agency's "Seniors Breathe Easy" project, a widespread effort to help seniors combat lung disease issues.
