“I really liked camp because it taught me a lot about my asthma. At the camp I learned how to breathe better when I run. Now I can run farther without getting tired. Before the camp I would wheeze at night and it was hard to sleep. Now I sleep better.”

Agency Awards 2009 Lung Cancer Research Grants

Breathe California would like to congratulate the recipients of our 2009 research grants! This includes two researchers at Stanford University: Dr. Rebecca Fahrig, who is exploring the use of a new imaging technique to increase early diagnoses of lung cancer cases; and Dr. Heather Wakelee, who is investigating the use of the drug bevacizumab among new lung cancer populations. Learn more about these projects.

In addition, we are proud to join a coalition of five other lung health organizations in congratulating Dr. Navdeep Chandel, the recipient of our jointly-sponsored Lung Cancer Promise of Tomorrow Award! Read more. Our thanks also go out to Dr. Peter Kao from Stanford University for helping review the award applications.
