"My son and I are walking for my mom, who has been a severe asthmatic for the past ten years. She has been hospitalized 7 times has had a tracheotomy. We've had a tough time because there are not many treatments out there, but we hope that raising funds will help change that."

The annual Breath of Life Walk is a chance for local community members to get together and show their support in the fight against lung disease. People directly affected by asthma and other lung disease as well as family, friends and others who wish to show their support are all welcome to attend. The event is a 5K walk with food, prizes and tons of fun. We hope to see you out at our next walk.

Why participate in the Walk?
100% of funds raised from the Walk will remain here in the Bay Area to help fund Breathe California’s wide array of local programs and services.  These funds will allow us to assist those suffering from lung disease now, prevent new cases of lung disease in the future and promote lung health research.

By taking part in the Breath of Life Walk, you can help us:

Teach asthmatic children how to take control of their condition
Offer education and support to local residents who are suffering from emphysema and lung cancer
Reduce asthma-related deaths and raise awareness about this serious health condition
Keep youth from getting addicted to tobacco and offer assistance to smokers trying to quit
Improve local air quality to ensure that all Bay Area residents can breathe easier

For nearly a century, Breathe California has dedicated itself to fighting lung disease and building healthy communities in the Bay Area.
