How to Reduce Secondhand Smoke in Your City!

Breathe California is working with others to reduce the exposure of secondhand smoke in several municipalities in Santa Clara County including Morgan Hill, Palo Alto, Milpitas, Mountain View and several others.  Secondhand smoke is dangerous even if you are exposed to it outdoors. Although we have made great strides, we need your help.

Examples of help include: helping with surveys, testifying at public hearings in support of ordinances, educating key people, gathering endorsements, etc.

In the next several weeks, each targeted municipality will be holding formal meetings to discuss adopting comprehensive tobacco prevention ordinances to reduce the public’s exposure.  This is where your help will be needed.  Please contact Breathe California at 408-998-5865 to get involved and to help make a positive impact in your city.

Your Home is at Risk!

Your Home is at risk for an energy emergency! A home energy assessment is just what the doctor ordered.

For a limited time, Santa Clara County is offering healthy rebates that cover 80% of the cost of a home energy assessment, up to $800.

Participating contractors are trained to diagnose ways you can reduce energy use, improve the comfort and air quality, and lower energy costs. Complete the improvements your contractor recommends and be eligible for incentives up to $4,000 through Energy Upgrade California.

Visit sccgov.org/energyupgrades for a list of participating contractors.
